Roy H. Trice Jr.: Partner   rtrice@canyonroadcapital.com

Mr. Trice has over 30 years of investment experience working in a variety of public and private investment vehicles. Mr. Trice is one of the founding partners of Canyon Road Capital L.P. and is responsible for the overall direction of the business, including risk management, administrative organization and institutional investor relationships.

Prior to forming Canyon Road Capital, Mr. Trice was the Chief Operating Officer and an equity partner of Carlson Capital, L.P., a Dallas based, non-directional hedge fund which manages in excess of $5 billion. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Trice’s responsibilities included; building, staffing and managing Carlson’s operations, as well as, developing and managing the investor relations and marketing group.  In addition to serving as Chief Operating Officer for Carlson, Mr. Trice served on Carlson's management committee, multiple operating and risk management committees, and as a member of the Firm's board of directors.

Prior to joining Carlson Capital, Mr. Trice held various positions with the Redstone Companies (Houston), Kidder Peabody/PaineWebber (Houston), Texas Commerce Bank (now JPMorgan Chase, Houston) and Arthur Andersen (Houston).

Mr. Trice currently serves as a non-executive board member of The Barbican Insurance Group, a London/Guernsey based, Lloyds of London affiliated, multi-class property and casualty insurer and reinsurer. Mr. Trice also currently serves as a non-executive board member of TransEngen, a U.S. based company which has created a platform designed to integrate financial and healthcare transactions to facilitate healthcare payment processing.

Mr. Trice received a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University.

Mr. McMonagle has more than ten years of experience as an executive and investment professional, helping build both high growth businesses and private equity funds.  Mr. McMonagle is one of the founding partners of Canyon Road Capital L.P. and is responsible for day to day operations of the business.

Previously, Mr. McMonagle was Chief Development Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Smashburger, helping to grow Smashburger from an idea to a rapidly growing Better Burger Restaurant with more than 120 locations across the country.  Mr. McMonagle was responsible for corporate store real estate site selection as well as selling franchise markets to experienced restaurant operators and approving their locations.  In his role as CFO, he was responsible for developing the financial and reporting systems in place today.  Prior to Smashburger, he was involved in the formation of Consumer Capital Partners, a private equity fund focused on investing in multi-unit retail and real estate opportunities.  He began his career at Bain and Company as a strategic consultant. 

Mr. McMonagle received his MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated with a BBA in Finance and Organizational Behavior from Southern Methodist University.
